''Summary of Irisan''

Irisan came from the word "Idisan" which means, a wood used to grind to make it fine. Irisan before is thickly forested with pine trees. it is also connected in Tuba Benguet with the first mayor Joaquin Smith.

Here are the first families of Ibalois in Irisan. We have Luna, Smith, Bugnay, Maganes, Alvarez, Oseo, Binay-an, Copero, Dunnong and many more. there are many Ibalois that born and raised here in Irisan, but then the story highlighted the Luna family. Virginia Luna and his Father Catalino migrated in baguio when she was 13 years old. Virginia was not an ibaloi but a native from Barlig Mt. Province. She was married before Lopez Oseo, after separation she married Felix Luna (pure Ibaloi men). She bore 9 children, 1 adopt and 1 stepsister.  When Idisan became Irisan , it already divided into 33 puroks and the population rapidly increases. The  first 211 title was own by Oseo family. And in 1952, Baguio Military Institute became Cooyesan.

Nowadays many things has change to the entire Baguio, and also many migrates and settlers from CAR, Manila and other provinces stayed and lived here in Baguio.
